The material research on the high temperature superconductivity for the past ten years gave us fairly enough information on the new phenomena in these new materials. And it seems that new applications in very wide range of industry are growing very quickly. In this report three main topics of the applications are given; [a] progress of the superconducting bulk materials and their applications to the flywheel electricity storage system and others, [b] progress of the development of superconducting tapes and their applications to the power cables and the high field superconducting magnet for the SMES and for the pulling system of large silicon single crystal, and [c] development of new superconducting devices [SFQ] and the possibility of the application to the large scale very fast supercomputers. These examples show the great capability of the superconductivity technology and it is expected that the real superconductivity industry will take off at around the year of 2005.
