Paul Guajardo

English Professor Chosen for Fulbright Scholar Grant for Teaching and Research

Dr. Guajardo has taught in the English Department since 1996. His research interests include Minority literature, autobiography, the English novel, and literature of the sea. He is the author of “Chicano Controversy: Oscar Acosta and Richard Rodriguez” (2002). He has also published essays in South Texas Studies, English in Texas, The Bilingual Review, Dialogue, The Greenwood Encyclopedia of Multiethnic American Literature, The Encyclopedia of American Ethnic Literature, Sail, and Sailing. He writes a monthly column, “The Sailor’s Library,” for Telltales magazine. Dr. Guajardo’s latest project is on Chicano autobiography.
