The Elizabeth D. Rockwell Lecture Awards will grant up to $10,000 to colleges, departments, or faculty to bring ethics and leadership scholars and practitioners to campus for a public lecture, class visits, professional development, or other similar purposes. The main goal of the program is to bring prominent scholars to campus to interact with UH faculty and students for the sake of improving ethics and leadership education, scholarship, and programs at UH.

Applications for the 2024-25 academic year are due by February 15, 2024 and should include the following: 1) person or group making the application; 2) nature of the application: Who will be invited to campus? Why? What will they do? Will the event be open to the public? Will you be charging money for the event? Are you proposing one lecture by one person, a panel discussion by several persons, a series of lectures by different speakers to be held on separate days? 3) Estimated budget: How much are you allocating for travel? Room rental? Food? Honorarium?

Selection criteria will include:

1. Likely impact of the event for UH students, faculty, staff, and community.
2. Potential for the visit to enrich scholarly activity and learning about ethics and leadership by UH faculty and students.
3. Feasibility of the proposal and budget.
